During our world around cruise we hope that we will have many guests onboard from all over the world. Even if you are traveling alone or with friends or with your whole family we would like to have you as a crew-member onboard our boat- the Bay Dreamer 2.0.
As a “guest-crew-member” you will be part of our adventures, Depending on where we are in the world we can offer a great variety of experiences. Bring your whole family onboard with kids for a 2 week cruise in the Caribbean or around the atolls of French Polynesia, cross the Atlantic or follow us to exotic places such as the Galapagos island or why not take a trip on the Amazon river.
Life on board a cruiser is great and can offer everything from lazy days in the sun, cosy restaurants on small islands, stay-overs in remote bays to hardcore adventures on the big oceans. It´s all depending what you want and where we are in the world.
About coastal sailing
During coastal sailing we usually sail for a few hours before we stop for a swim or a lunch break. For the night we can choose between sleeping over in a marina, in some small village or stay on anchor in a quiet bay. It´s up to you how active you want to be onboard. If you just want to relax in the sun, swim, fish or enjoy a good book you are most welcome to do so, or if you are full of energy, why not take a crash course in sailing and learn how to master the boat.
About ocean sailing
Ocean sailing is a completely different story compared to coastal sailing. We are normally on our own and we don´t have the luxury to seek shelter in case of bad weather or if something else happens onboard. If you choose to sail with us on an ocean passage you should hunger more for the adventure than for a drink by the pool. After departure, you will soon be part of the crew and participate in the sailing. Normally it´s really relaxing to be out on the big blue sea – it´s a special feeling to be out there all alone on a small vessel.
The crew
Onboard the boat you will find Anna 34 and Daniel 41 together with our 2.5 year old baby girl- Olivia. Before we left our old life back in Stockholm- Sweden we basically had to sell everything we owned to afford our new floating adventure home. We started our journey from Croatia in the Mediterranean sea where we also bought our new friend – the Bay Dreamer 1.0. We are now crossing oceans with our second boat- Bay Dreamer 2.0 and we will continue our ocean life for many years to come.
Our crew members
During our time on the sea we had more than 100 guest-crew-members sailing with us and we are used to have new crew members onboard our floating home. Many have returned and sailed with us again which is a great indicator of that life onboard the Bay Dreamer is great! As a crew member you will have the true experience of sailing and you will be apart of something instead of being served 24/7 on an expensive charter boat. This might also mean that you from time to time will have to get dirty and help out during your stay onboard- you are after all a crew member!
The boat
Bay Dreamer 2.0 is a extremely well equipped catamaran that can carry up to 9 persons over any ocean on the planet. She offers 4 spacious rooms + 1 crew quarter, 4 showers with toilets and a spacious saloon and kitchen. All around and above the boat you will find cosy areas to hang out in. We also carries 3 stand up paddle boards, snorkeling equipment, dive equipment and a dive compressor, spear guns and of course plenty of fishing gear. Besides all the toys she is also extremely well equipped when it comes to safety. We have dual navigation and communication systems, radar, autopilot, sat-phone, both EPRIB and AIS-transponders, life jackets for all crew members and also off course a big ass life-raft for 10 people.

We often get the the following questions and I will try to answer them beforehand to save us both some time:
Do I need to know how to sail?
ABSOLUTELY NOT- we will take care of business and if you are up for it we will teach you everything there is to know about life onboard a sailing boat.
Can I travel with you for free if I help out on the boat?
No sorry- we are far from rich so we must ask you to contribute with the costs onboard. A sailing boat is like a black whole when it comes to money so everything we get goes back to the boat. If we ever win the lottery in the future we will take you guys around the world for free!!
What duties do I need to be part of during my time onboard?
We only ask that you help out with food cooking and keeping the boat nice and tidy. Most of our guests wants to be part of the sailing but if you just wanna chill out and enjoy the cruise from behind a good book- please feel free! Just keep in mind that this is our home and we like it clean and well organized. We will take good care of you all the way but remember that this is not a charter boat so don´t expect us to iron your clothes and make your bed every day!!
How will I sleep onboard the boat during my stay?
We have 3 +1 available rooms for our crew-members, in each room you will find a double bed. Depending of what type of trip we do, how many people we are onboard, you might have a room for yourself or you might have to share it with someone.
How should I pack my belongings?
A soft bag is way better that a hard suitcase. This is because we normally store your bags away outside your room. A hard suitcase will take to much space onboard.
Is diving included in the running costs?
No it´s not! If you are a licensed diver and know what you are doing we will ask you for a small contribution to fill up the tanks. If you don’t have your own equipment you can borrow it form us for a small buck. Some of the diving around the world is pretty dangerous with very strong currents and these places requires a dive master with local knowledge- we will not let you out on a suicide dive on your own in these places. We do have a dive-master onboard so even if you are not a licensed diver you will have the chance to do some diving!
About dates, deadlines and destinations!!
Before you come and sail with us it is important that you do understand that it is VERY hard for us even sometimes impossible to keep exact dates or even destinations due to current weather and winds conditions.
Bay Dreamer is not a ferry with powerful engines that will push trough any weather conditions, nor is she a charter boat that operates in a small area where you can motor around in almost any weather, we are most of the times covering big distances and we constantly need to adapt our plans to the current weather conditions!
This requires that our crew are flexible and are able to keep smiling even if we need to change the original plan . Sometimes we can get stuck in one place for a couple days cause of the weather and it is nothing we can do about it.
Will you entertain me at all times?
No- we wont! We are sailors- not clowns or traveling-guides. We will take you to amazing places but it is up to you and your own “adventure-spirit “ to entertain yourself. Take a machete and smash yourself trough the jungle, find yourself a couple of manta-rays or why not get drunk with the local fishermen. Do your own research and make sure you make the most of all the places we visit! Keep in mind that most of the places we arrive to are new for us as well and we don’t have a clue of what to do and where to do it!
WARNING – BABY ONBOARD!!!
Oh yeah- just a heads up!! We do have a 2.5 year old baby girl onboard and she is and will be all over the place at all times. So think twice for applying if you can’t stand a wild baby girl!!
Cya soon
