There are some moments in life that you know will be amazing before they even happen. This upcoming trip is definitely something that will be full of such moments and is being met with great anticipation by all the crew.
After a fast paced and jam packed sail over the past three months- now it’s time to slow down the pace, breath in these moments and hold on to them tightly. The new crew arrived in Darwin last with ear to ear grins and energized greetings, eagerly awaiting the next 10 weeks.
The new crew aboard Bay Dreamer is: Amanda from Scotland, Hampus from Sweden, Victor and Helena who sailed across the Pacific with us and their baby girl- Lo (Olivia’s new rival).
A few closing days were spent in Cullen Bay Marina, stuffing every gaping space in Bay Dreamer with groceries and every sugary delight imaginable, visiting the vibrant and bustling Mindal Beach markets and indulging ourselves on some final mouth watering burgers. Burger cravings satisfied for the time being, we began our sail on to our first stop- Kupang in West Timor.
With not much more than a petty breeze over this crossing, we had to switch on the engines for most of this leg. With not much wind it made for a pleasant crossing more like paddling over a large, gentle duck pond rather than the vast ocean.
Our arrival to Kupang was of semblance to that of a royal family. The novelty of our arrival made it near impossible to walk 50m without being stopped for a selfie, honked at by a passing mob or having our cheeks pinched (ok, maybe the last bit was just Olivia).
Today, the real journey begins to the island of Solor where each unknown moment and adventure awaits us.

Have a wonderful trip. Sounds amazing!
