Finally everyone is onboard and we are ready to start our crazy “FUN” weeks together! Onboard the boat we now have our crazy Brazilian friend Renato, together with his brave mother- “matchu” and his friend Guilherme. Off course we also have our standard crew onboard- Daniel, Anna, Vera and Davide.
Renato that was sailing with us a couple of months ago is easiest described as an “constant-smiling-action-man”. He just bought himself a boat, or a yacht to be more precise, my absolute dreamboat- a Lagoon 440. This of course makes me like him a little bit less but I like him so much it almost doesn’t make any difference- ALMOST!
When he comes- he never comes empty handed- this time he brought one radio-controlled drone, 3 kite boards + kites and much more.
These 3 weeks we will have together will be very hectic. We are not here only to enjoy ourself we will also work hard;
Davide is going to train Renato and Guilherme in diving, he is actually going to take them all the way from “open water divers” to Dive-master level which is going to require a lot of hours both under the water and behind the “school-bench”.
I am going to teach Renato everything I know about sailing (that won’t take so long :-), tacking, jibing, storm-tactics, anchoring, manoeuvrering inside a marina, man-over-board routines, night-sailing, radio procedures, navigation, mechanics, maintenance and everything else that comes with sailing and living on the sea!
Renato is not the only one that is going to study and practise ALOT during these weeks. Renato has promised to transform all three of us (Anna, Davide and me) into Bad Ass kite surfers!
