We are a Swedish couple from Stockholm/ Sweden with a big interest in traveling and adventures. This sailing trip around the world is according to Anna the last one we do before we settle down and starts a family ?? really, seriously??
We came up with this idea to sail around the world late 2011 and we have been working hard ever sense then to make this adventure possible. We basically sold everything we had, including apartment, car, furniture’s even my old dog (that was a joke). The journey to get here felt pretty long- it does´t sound as a long time but if you know me (Daniel) you can understand that it felt like 2 lifetimes. Our expectations about our new life on the sea is pretty big and I really hope that it will be as amazing as we hope.
2018- update
We did start a family BUT we didn’t settle down- so I guess we both won. We have just moved into our second boat and our family is growing as we speak. Our crew list is already 1 row longer since our start 5 years ago and who knows how long it will be in the end. We now know what this life is all about and our plan is to continue this life of ours for at least another 5 years.
——————-The crew of Bay Dreamer ————————-
Name: Daniel
Age: 41
Nationality: Swedish
Sailed all over the globe together with my best friend Jonas on a 63 feet Wharram catamaran during the year 2009-2011. Our next boat Bay Dreamer gave me another wonderful 5 years on the oceans. I cant see my self living a normal life on land so here I am- boat number 3 – Bay Dreamer 2.0. All I know I learned from my own mistakes, and it has been a few since the start back in 2009- so I do know a few things about boats and life on the sea. Still learning but I am sure I have another 2000 mistakes to do before I can consider myself a sailor.
Name: Anna
Age: 34
Nationality: Swedish
I started my sailing career 2013 back in Croatia with our old boat – Bay Dreamer 1.0. The reason people call me “the sick-sailor” is not because I am crazy or different, I am just very sea-sick. People say it will pass after a while but I think they are wrong. I have sailed over 40.000 miles, crossed several oceans, sailed to over 40 countries on 6 continents and I am still sea sick…..Welcome to my world…….
Name: Olivia
Age: 3
Nationality: Swedish
This little monkey girl has more than 13.000nm and more than 20 countries in her logbook- pretty impressive considering her young age. She is a wild one and she doesn’t go unnoticed onboard. She loves cartoons, fishes, dogs and to get 100% attention at all times.
Name: Theodor
Age: 4 months
Nationality: Swedish
Theodor is born 2019 on the small Caribbean island – St Marten. On his second “months birthday” he had sailed over 1000 miles and visited 6 countries.
He is pretty new to the whole game and doesn’t have many skills yet – but he is great at smiling, drawling and vomiting
Name: Vera RETIRED
Age: 10
Nationality: Swedish/ Irish
Vera decided to retire and leave the boat life behind. She is now living together with her new pack in Opua – New Zealand. We respect her decision and wish her the best of lives together with her new family.
I have definitely no sailing experience at all. I am a little bit worried over the toilet issues but I think the captain will come up with a solution for this pretty embarrassing problem. I love to swim and fish though..
