Rough sailing to Cayman Island

You often hear; what doesn’t kill you makes your stronger. We are still alive but I can tell you that we do not feel strong at all- exhausted actually! As expected this trip was probably the toughest leg me and Anna has done together with our “fiber-glass bitch” the Bay Dreamer.

It took us 4 days and 16 hours to sail 700 miles from Cartagena to George Town in Cayman Island. We had constant winds of 25-32 knots hitting us from a slight angel from the front. This together with BIG waves straight from the side made the trip super tough for both us and the boat!

A couple of massive waves hit us pretty badly and it felt like the hull or the windows were about to get crushed at any time. The force actually made some damages inside the boat that we will need to take care of before we sail back to Panama!

Overall I must say it was a great trip, I am impressed by this small catamaran of ours- she is small but tough!

Also Anna should get a diploma for always doing a great job even though she is constantly seasick. It is a lot tougher than you think to be out there in strong winds and have large waves constantly flushing over you!

I don’t know who was happiest when we finally arrived- Anna or Vera? Maybe Anna because she has more brains than Vera- who knows??

Cayman Island

This is the second time we visit the Islands of Cayman. The people over here are fantastic and the water is ridiculously clear. To check in over here is like a dream- they are so professional and polite you wouldn’t believe it! This morning two guys from the port authorities came out to our boat and asked us if we needed anything!?! I am used to pay a 100 dollar in bribes before I had my first cup of coffee for the day!

Well thats all for now!
