The hurricane season is approaching and we will set sail and travel to safer locations south of the hurricane belt. This journey will take us all the way to the northern part of South America and the amazing city of Cartagena in Colombia.
Instead of rushing things and taking the shortest possible way to Cartagena we decided to take a much more scenic route and enjoy our self to max. The planned journey will take us 4 weeks and will be around 1000 miles long – give or take.
Our planned destinations for this trip is:

▪ St Barth
▪ Saba
▪ British Virgin Island
▪ Colombia
When and where do we start?
The planned start date for this trip is the 20th of april 2019 and will have its start from Sint Maarten. If all goes as planned we will drop our anchor in Cartagena around the 18th of May.
Will this be a demanding trip?
This trip will not be very demanding and we will spend the majority of the time in cozy bays exploring what offers both on land and under the surface. We are travelers and are not really focusing on the sailing part anymore. The time when we got a “hard-on” from a fast leg is long past. Nowadays always aim to make all legs as smooth, easy and safe as we possible can- even if we loose some speed in the process.
The final leg to Cartagena from the British Virgin Island is around 800 miles and will most likely take us around 5 to 6 days if we take it easy.
We will have room for 6 guesting crew members on this trip in our 3 guest cabins. Yeah that’s right- you might have to share a bed with a stranger if you travel alone, but they are pretty big so you will be OK!
A bit about the boat
The boat is equipped with 4 cabins and 4 toilets/showers + 1 crew cabin, 1 big saloon and multiple outdoor areas to hang out on. You will find everything you need and much more onboard, air con, fridge, freezer, generator, hot water, water maker, stereo, tv, dive compressor, dive equipment, snorkeling gear, paddle boards, spear guns and fishing gear.
The boat is also equipped with all imaginable safety equipment such as life raft, emergency transponders, Sat-phone, dual navigation system, dual vhf system and a big ass trauma kit if an accident should happen onboard the boat.
WARNING – BABIES ONBOARD!!!
Oh yeah- just a heads up!! We do have one 3 year old baby girl and a 3 months old baby boy onboard the boat! Olivia is and will be all over the place at all times. So think twice for applying if you can’t stand a wild baby girl!!
Olivia has way over 15.000 miles in her logbook and thinks everyone lives on the oceans. She knows her way around a boat and is besides being hyper active she is never a problem.
Is this a charter boat?
Oh no!! We will all act as crew members, we all take part in everyday duties such as sailing, cocking, cleaning and resupplying the boats food storage. Just one big happy family!!!

Sint Martin : 20th april 2019

You guys will arrive to the boat that will be located inside the lagoon on Sint Marteen. The boat will be 99% ready for departure upon your arrival. What needs to be done is food shopping and that is something we do together to ensure everyone will be happy when the first meal is served.
St Barth 15 miles

Besides visiting the capital Gustavia we will for sure take our time and visit Ile Fourchue and the beautiful bay Colombier before it is time to continue our journey.
Saba: 30 miles

To get here: 0
This amazing gem of the Caribbean is a wonderful place to explore by foot. The anchorage is not the best and the island has much to offer except sandy beaches. You will be amazed about this pretty islands stunning views. The diving is according to people I met very good around Saba but local regulations states you have to dive with a local dive operator.
British Virgin Islands: 100 miles

To get there: 15 hours
We have spent a lot of time in this Caribbean paradise and we do have an idea where we should go. Anegada, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke is on the planning table. We always listen to our crew so if there is anyone that has any special requests we will most likely make it happen.
Snorkeling, beach life, paddle boarding and diving will most likely be part of our everyday life during our stay in the BVI.
Colombia- Cartagena: 800 miles

To get here: 5 to 6 days
We have now reached our final destination after a rather long sail together. We will try to organize a spot in a local marina to make our final days together as great as possible. Cartagena is a fantastic city that offers both history, street life, architecture and there is always something going on.
