Mean Antigua to super posh St Barth

We have been a little bit lazy when it comes to updating our website. But to be 100% honest it is because we haven’t done anything worth writing about.

Visiting St Barth, the only colony Sweden ever had.

Me and Anna left the south part of Antigua the day after Davide left us for his new job on board the super yacht Dione Star. We did a 4 hours sail up north to a beautiful bay called Jolly Harbor. In Jolly Harbour you will find a couple of seriously nice beaches, a really good supermarket, and many cool houses with a boat parking spot right outside their living rooms.

When me and Anna went for a resupply round at the supermarket we could feel the full power of the ordinary world. We started of with forgetting our shoes on the boat so it took me at least 20 minutes to convince the security guard that I had clean feet before I was allowed to enter the supermarket. The cashier had no humor at all when my VISA card didn’t work and when Anna went to the bank to withdraw cash she lost all the humor when the machine lost her card- so basically a full day without humor.

The customs office in Jolly Harbor would win get the yearly “customs Donkey Awards”. People were telling me they were really mean but I didn’t believe them but when I saw how they were treating the poor bastard next to me. The “guy” checked out from Guadeloupe and told the customs over there that he would sail to Dominica but he changed his mind and sailed directly to Antigua instead- the customs officer refused him entry because of this and told him to sail all the way back to Dominica?!?!? What the fu..!?!

We started our 80 nm sail to St Bart 21.00 yesterday and arrived at 08.00 this morning, It´s pretty cool to walk around in a Caribbean town and see that all street names is in Swedish (one and only colony of Sweden – ever). It´s really posh over here so we will only stay until tomorrow when we will set sail for St Martin.

Ps. we wish all the Swedish people onboard Victory, Freewheel and Solit all the best and stay safe.

    Hej,

First of all, sorry for my poor English .I found your page searching for Sweden and St Bart.
I am interested in Sweden and history. “Visiting St Barth, the only colony Sweden ever had.”
that is not exactly right, Sweden had “Nya Sverige” in America whose main city was Fort Christina in the 17th century , also French island “Guadeloupe ” for a year !

I think France could share the sovereingty of the island because Sweden has had it almost for 100 years,as the neighboring island Saint Martin Island divided between France and the Netherlands

    Hälsningar från Frankrike.
