Bye-bye Greece

After have spending more than two months in this country of tsatsiki, lamb and ouzo we are now ready to leave and set sail for Malta. We will be leaving within a couple of hours and we are really looking forward to speed up the pace a couple of knots.

leaving greece

During our time here in Greece we had a lot of visitors on-board our boat, we had the privilege to spend a lot of quality time with booth friends and family all the way from Corfu down to Crete and we would like to thank all of you for an awesome time together- we hope that we will see you all sooner than later.

Anyway- we are now prepared for a pretty long and slow sail to Valetta the capital of Malta. The boat is prepped and in excellent condition, Anna has prepared food for at least 4 days- she has been cooking all day- lasagne, pies and other meals that is easy to make ready even if you are a little bit seasick- smart call Anna!

During this leg Vera (our dog) HAVE to go to the “toilet” on deck- she has refused to do so during our last 4 months on the sea. Her earlier record is 32 hours but not even she can “hold it” for 6 days. Before we leave tonight we will go for a walk and find some “piss smelling grass” to put on her “toilet carpet”

The distance to Valetta from where we are now is about 400 miles- if you go in a straight line that will say. Because that the winds are blowing from west we have to sail south south west towards Libya before we can level out with the winds and sail up towards Malta. A guess would be that our route to Malta will be around 600 miles- give or take and that should take us around 5 days- but I have been wrong before so it might take us double that time- what do I know?!

 Wish us luck and keep in touch!

 //Daniel, Anna & Vera

    Happy sailing now and a lot of good luck. Hope the winds will be with you. Did you find a small peace of lawn for Vera so she “can do her business” or did you find another solution for her?
    Lots of love//Monica & Orjan

    Lycka till på färden, är med er hela vägen. Lilla Vera, kämpa på annars blir det kateter från båda hållen och hur kul är det tror du? KRAM KRAM
