Hello Malta!

We sailed for 6 days and sailed more than 600 nm to get from Crete to Malta- if you were a bird you would only have to fly 400 nm in a straight line to get here. That we had really low winds didn’t come as a surprise so we were stocked up with plenty of food, movies and good reading- for the first time of my life I read a book that was so good I could not stop reading- “an amazing sail by Tristan Jones”

We caught two small tunas on the way but we let one back into the water cause we had more than we could eat. On the way we also saw two sea-turtles, a couple of dolphins and a bird hitchhiking with a floating box?!

On the way I saw a white box floating around on the sea and it went on like this:

Me- Wow check it out- a white box floating around- lets check it out!!

Anna– Why?

Me– Maybe it´s something fun

Anna– I don’t think so

Me– I don’t care what you think- lets turn around and check it out

Anna– I don’t want to

Me– you are boring

5 minutes later we got a rope around our rudder and in to our propeller, I had to go in to the water to try to cut it of- I managed to get it of the rudder but the boat was moving to much to work the rope in the propeller in the dark- I am so fuc… stupid- off course it was a fisherman’s long line and not something exiting a cargo-ship lost in the ocean,

This mess-up later led to that we had to drop anchor instead of “parking” along the city wall- and that led to getting our anchor stuck- and that let to breaking our chain and loosing our anchor- and that led us to buying a new chain and anchor for 800 euros?!?!?!?! What can I say- Anna you were right! I was wrong!

Vera (our dog) has a serious problem- she is so well behaved so tat she refuses to go to the toilet on-board our deck. It took her 3 days before she went- and I can tell you that it was the biggest dump ever made by a dog- ever!!

We went into a marina here in Valletta yesterday to maintain and clean the boat- she is now in super condition and ready for the sea again.

On Saturday we might have a new temporary crew member that is sailing with us to Italy- so the plan is at the writing moment to stay around Valletta until Saturday when we leave for some islands outside Malta before setting the big sail for Italy!
