Meet the Pacific “no-clue” crew

In a couple of hours we will leave Shelter Bay marina and head to the entrance of the Panama Canal and the official starting point of our Pacific adventure.

DSC_0818

All our new (and old) crew members arrived to the boat a couple of days ago and I think it is time for a short presentation of them before we set of. The trip trough the canal will take us 2 days and we will spend one night in the Gatun lake before we reach the Pacific Ocean.

Simon “The six pack”
Victor “The great”
Simon “The thinker”
Helena “The north girl”
Anna “The Amiral”
Katrin “The fish”
Daniel “The Captain”
Davide “The Casanova”

Davide:
Nationality: Italian

Age: 28

This well known Italian Casanova has been sailing the oceans long enough to have at least 2 girls in each harbour. He knows his way around a boat as well as around a spagetthi carbonara. Davide that is a dive instructor will most likely train some of our crew members to become better divers!

Katrin:
Nationality: German

Age: 35

Katrin has been sailing with us before and as some of you already know she spends more time under the water than above (if she can choose). She has been home working for the last 6 months and I don’t know how but apparently she developed underwater capacity during her stay in Europe. Just to stress me up she hold her breath in the pool for 3 minutes and 51 seconds 1 day after her arrival! She makes me look really un-cool but I am truly happy to have her onboard again!

Victor:
Nationality: Swedish

Age: 39

An adventurous 100% “blatte” from Sweden. He will without any doubt be our onboard fitness guru,  3 hours after his arrival the whole crew was out for a “military- style-eating-dirt-fitrness-session”. He claims water and food are for weak people- PERFECT!

Helena
Nationality: Swedish

Age. Unknown (she is from up north in Sweden- always hard to tell)

People from up north in Sweden are always hard to read! They speak in a special way that makes it really hard to not to like them. Also she is together with Victor so she has to be crazy enough to fit in perfect onboard this trip!

Nico
Nationality: German

Age: 23

This guy decided to go on this 3 months adventure in under 3 minutes- I think that says a lot about his personality! Besides that he is actually writing a book about the human species struggling for survival after 50.000 years of natural disasters from now, so he has to be cool!

Simon
Nationality: Swedish

Age: 23

This young guy from Sweden will without any doubt be our own onboard “Disco king”. He is always smiling and he o has a serious “sailing around the world Hawaiian palm-three shirt” that goes with his disco appearance.

Vera
Nationality. Irish

Age: 9

Our own “on-board” garbage disposal system. Vera can wash and clean 8 plates and 2 pots of food in under 30 seconds. I shit you not- this small Irish terrier has a disposal capacity as a full-grown anaconda!

Anna & Daniel
Nationality: Swedish

Age: 31 and 101 years old

I don’t think anyone of us need to introduce ourself! We have been sailing this boat now for almost 2 years and we both have a GREAT feeling about this leg!

Please send my regards to the “disco-king” Simon. Tell him that I will follow his movments around the world with close attention and if he fails in any part he will be remembered for that when he comes back to Arvika. Just joking!

Have fun, all of you and in specific Simon!

    Take care!
