Navpaktos to Athens

It has been a while sense our last report, but as they say- better late than never! Also- I hate to write about that happened more than 2 days ago so I will let the pictures tell the story!

Me, Anna and our visiting crew and family Patrik, Anna and little Vilda left the small port of Navpaktos late afternoon on the 10th of july and steered towards CORINTH CANAL that would take us down to the Aegean sea.

During the night our fishing rod went complete bananas and we got a seriously big fish on the hook, I was 100% SURE that we tangled our line in something but after a while the rod started to spin as a mother fuc…, this caused a lot of excitement on the boat and even more disappointment when we lost the fish 10 meters from the boat. We never saw the fish but it was BIG!!!

We sailed the 50 nm down to the canal pretty fast with help from a strong northern wind.

The CORINTH CANAL was a really cool experience, the canal is only a couple of miles long and really narrow, it feels like you are floating trough a ravine- and the coolest thing is that you are doing just that- the canal-walls rises over 60 meters next to you and the whole trip takes about half an hour. We had to pay almost 180 euro to pass trough but it was worth it- not only for the experience but also for saving about 200 miles on our trip to Athens.

After crossing the canal we decided to go to the closest island possible to chill out for a while- we went to an island called Aigina where we found a really nice bay there we stayed for two days before we went up to Alimos Marina in Athens.

During our stay in Athens we did some hard core tourism as well as some work with the boat- me and Patrik fixed our AIS system with good results mean while Anna and Anna cleaned out the boat,

Patrik, Anna and Vilda left the boat on the 16th of July to leave room for our next guests- Andreas and Jessica with their two kids Cornelia and Valter that are going to stay with us for two weeks.

Thank you guys for two wonderful weeks together- we hope to see you soon again!!
