Out on the Pacific

Out in the Blue

Out on the Pacific

Over an Ocean that is as deep as the Kilimanjaro high.

Its about 800 miles to go (the total was 3041-straight line) and the days just melt into each other like one. Everyday I get out of bed and check the surroundings first, its an endless amount of water and sky around. Sometimes the colors vary from the deepest blue to pale grey, you see rainclouds passing, the sun rising and a couple hours setting again. Everything in a perfect circle. And we are in the middle of it, depending on wind and current only to get to our destination. Not quite like Contiki, after watching that movie ( in Norwegian) I was really happy for a day, to have all the amenities of modern life, like a fridge, navigation instruments, auto pilots, Computers, own beds . . we dont have Shark Powder thou, but I think well manage J

But the endless Ocean seems to be empty, where are all the fish?? After No. 10-of-lost Fish on our hooks, since 5 days there is not even a false alarm, which is by-the way- the best method to get the guys out of bed in A SECOND. The noise of the fishing rod going banana.

The fish is rather jumping acrobatically on the boat inside my 30x30cm semi-closed-t-shirt-covered-hatch, hiding under my pillow, instead of simply biting on our hooks out in the water. That was a funny story, I was reading my Encyclopedia, but switched off the lights to go to sleep, went up again to have a little chat with Helena on the Helm. As I came back to the room I noticed a fish smell and I thought there might be a fish on the net, we can put on the hook. Indeed I found one, put it on the hook, went back to the room, still I noticed the smell, mhm maybe I imagine it now I thought, settled in bed, tried to sleep, after half an hour I found a fish-scale, and I thought thats the source of the smell, than I found another-and another-and another – well- maybe its time to switch the light back on and there he was mister flighting Fish Fridolin, alias smelly fish, right UNDER MY PILLOW, well worked in the blanket by the time orgh.. the stand-by couch in the saloon was occupied, so I had no choice in removing the blanket and go back to sleep again ignoring Fridolins left-overs (his smell), because by the time-he was hanging on the hook playing his last role in life Fish bait.. ( didnt work thou L )

You see I am almost getting poetic on this trip now, due to boredom. But I think I am not allowed to say it out loud- or even THINK it, so the Capi might erase that sentence.. but its just the truth. Its an aaamazing loooong stretch of water to cover and there is not really much to do, other than sleep a LOT and tread ourselves real good. Everyday someone is making another delicious Focaccia, Olive Bread, Vanilla Buns or Tarte au chocolate, Coconut-lemon cakes or simply Popcorn. Midnight Chinese noodle soups or why not eat it for breakfast, too??

Combined with no movement, or physical training, only sitting, lying, sitting and lying around a little bit more- we will all be diabetic by the time we reach Marquesas haha positive thoughts. Which we keep up with watching Jack Bauer in 24, Breaking Bad or various Documentaries about almost EVERYTHING.

Wanna join??
