As expected the trip from Gibraltar to Lanzarote was really slow and it took us 7 days to reach our destination. We had really low winds or no winds and we had to use our engines for almost 2 full days.
Regardless of the speed I must say the trip was pretty good overall. We got the big fish, We got the 11 knot of speed (yeah we got good winds for about 1 hour when leaving Gibraltar), We got the sea-sickness, we got the whales, we got the dolphins and finally we even got the stupid Captain over-board?!?!
I don’t know why but sometimes I am just very stupid. During the trip I was cleaning the deck using a bucket that I managed to lose in the sea. I really like that bucket so I decided to turn around and pick it up. I must say that in the beginning it all seemed to be under control – we turned around the boat, got close to the bucket but the damn thing was impossible to get with the hook so I decide to jump in and get it?!?! I am a really bad swimmer so it was doomed from the beginning- if it was not for Anna I would still be swimming around in the Atlantic- thank you Anna!!!
Our new crew members, Gosia and Rose who sailed with us to Lanzarote was a good contribution to the boat and we hope that they enjoyed the trip.
Gosia is still with us and we also picked up Seth and Mickey that flew in from the USA to sail with us for a week around the islands. It seems like we will have really good winds during this week and we will for sure have an awesome week together.
